Move You Fool: An Encounter Between Art and Tarot in Shertise Solano’s Solo Exhibition
Introduction: Tarot and art share more in common than one might initially think. Both have the power to evoke something within you—an emotion, a thought, or an insight waiting to be uncovered. In Move You Fool, Shertise Solano invites you to explore art through the lens of tarot, discovering what this unique connection reveals.
An Encounter Between Art and Tarot Imagine standing before a work of art and feeling something stir within you. You may not know exactly why it resonates, but it does. Art reflects something of yourself, of where you are in life at that moment. The image opens a thought, a feeling, or an insight that already existed within you but had not yet taken form. Drawing a tarot card works in much the same way. The cards do not predict your future; instead, they act as a mirror, inviting you to pause and reflect on personal questions.
In Move You Fool, Shertise Solano brings art and tarot together in an innovative way. Step into a multimedia experience where you, too, can engage with the cards. What will you discover when you view art through the perspective of tarot?
About the Exhibition Move You Fool showcases Solano’s latest work, inspired by tarot cards. Together with Catrien Schreuder, conservator of modern art, she held several tarot sessions. Their conversations about tarot, art, and life form the foundation of this exhibition.
